Apple Updates Base iPad With New A16 Chip; Starts From RM1,599

Alongside the new iPad Air with M3, Apple has also introduced an updated version of its base iPad, now powered by the A16 chip. This marks a significant upgrade from the previous A14 model, with the company claiming a 30% performance boost and stating that it operates up to six times faster than some Android tablets.

Despite the improved performance, the new iPad does not support Apple Intelligence. However, Apple has doubled the storage, with the base model now starting at 128GB.

The tablet retains its 10.9-inch display, though it lacks the full lamination and anti-reflective coating found on the iPad Air. The design remains mostly unchanged, featuring a 12MP camera on both the front and back, along with Touch ID on the power button.

The new iPad will be available in Malaysia soon, starting at RM1,599 for the WiFi version and from RM2,299 for the cellular model. The device will be offered in four colours: Blue, Pink, Silver, and Yellow. Apple has also introduced a new Magic Keyboard Folio for this iPad, priced at RM1,149.
