The Nothing Phone (3a) and its Pro variant were unveiled earlier in the week, and now the company has officially launched the series for the local market. As we’ve already seen, the two phones have surprisingly a lot in common, but in its own may this makes the Pro moniker a bit more meaningful.
In case you missed it, both the Nothing Phone (3a) and the (3a) Pro share a 6.77-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset, a 5,000 mAh battery with 50W charging. Also in common between the two are an under-display fingerprint sensor, Android 15 with Nothing OS 3.1 and an IP64 rating.
And making the series stand out from the competition, and even its predecessors, is the Essential Key below the power button. This is essentially the AI shortcut button, as it provides quick access to the Essential Space feature.
With all that, the difference between the Nothing Phone (3a) and the Pro version are the cameras. The base model has a 50MP main + 8MP wide-angle + 50MP 2x telephoto camera combo at the back, and a 32MP shooter in front. The Pro variant instead has a better telephoto shooter in the form of a 50MP 3x periscope camera at the back, with the front facing camera also bumped up to a 50MP unit.
Now that the phones have launched locally, we also get the prices of the device. But since they both have only one configuration of 12GB + 256GB, they each only have one price tag each. For the Nothing Phone (3a), you can get it at RM1,699, while the Pro model has a RM1,999 price tag. They are not immediately available though, as they are only open for pre-order tomorrow, on 8 March. The base model becomes available on 22 March, while the Pro gets a limited release on this date, and proper availability on 7 April.
