Google Pixel 9a Appears In SIRIM

The much-rumoured Pixel 9a, the latest entry in Google’s Pixel 9 smartphone line-up, may be launching in Malaysia soon. Based on our findings, listings for the phone have appeared in SIRIM’s E-ComM database, indicating an imminent release.

In fact, the phone is found to have been listed twice, under two separate local distributors VSTECS Astar Sdn Bhd and AnsarComp (M) Sdn Bhd. Both of which were approved by SIRIM on 28 January 2025.

Meanwhile, leakster Evan Blass (aka @evleaks) has recently shared marketing materials for the upcoming Pixel 9a. The images reveal four official colour options: Obsidian (black), Porcelain (white), Peony (pink), and Iris (purple).

Additional images highlight the Pixel 9a’s integration with Google Gemini, showcasing its compatibility with apps such as Maps, Calendar and YouTube. Another key feature displayed is Google’s new Theft Protection, which is now part of Android 10 and later versions.

The Pixel 9a is rumoured to launch globally on 19 March. It is expected to feature the Tensor G4 chipset, a 6.3-inch FHD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 5,100mAh battery supporting 23W wired and 7.5W wireless charging. Its rear camera setup is said to consist of a 48MP main sensor and a 13MP ultrawide lens.
