According to a report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is considering the addition of AI-powered cameras to its Apple Watch series. These cameras will apparently “see the outside and use AI to deliver relevant information”.
Unfortunately, this might not be spotted in the market anytime soon. Gurman states that this technology will not be added to the brand’s watch series for at least a few more generations. The Apple Watch Series 12 might potentially be the first to feature the AI-cameras, though it could possibly take even longer.
The Apple Watch Ultra will also apparently have a different camera location compared to the regular models. While the current idea is to give the Series version a front-facing camera similar to the iPhone, Gurman says that the Ultra’s cameras will be on the side of the watch, near the crown and button.
Disappointingly, it seems that neither model will be equipped with support for FaceTime calling from the wrist. It’s stated that it will, however, have Visual Intelligence, allowing users to simply point their wrist at an object to learn more about it. On a similar note, Apple is also reportedly working on adding cameras to its AirPods.
