Samsung Galaxy S25 Series Gets Real-Time Visual AI With Gemini Live Update

by Kris

Last month, Google announced that it is rolling out the capability for Gemini Live to take real-time prompts. This hasn’t yet rolled out to every Android user, but Samsung has announced that its Galaxy S25 series has gotten real-time visual AI. While it sounds like a fancy new name for the version being used by the South Korean tech giant, it is effectively the same thing.

The gist of it is, once you get the new update on Google Gemini, you give the power button on the Samsung Galaxy S25 a long press, and then get Gemini Live to analyse the world around you. While it’s doing that, you ask it questions in a conversational manner, and it will give you suggestions based on your vocal prompt, as well as the real-time visual prompt.

Samsung says that the rollout for this feature started earlier in the week, or more specifically on 7 April. But worth reiterating is that the only devices that are benefiting from this now are the Galaxy S25 series phones. The company doesn’t say when, or even if, this will be available to the other older devices. But there are probably more pre-requisites than just getting One UI 7, which some devices will be getting as soon as next week.

The reason for this is because the internet search giant already said real-time visual prompts are “rolling out to Gemini Advanced subscribers as part of Google One AI Premium plan on Android devices later this month”. And it’s also worth remembering that the new Samsung Galaxy S25 series phones get Gemini Advanced for free, at least for between three and 12 months. For those still waiting on their One UI 7 update, chances are you won’t be getting to use real-time visual prompts unless something changes between the two companies.
