Meet AIMOGA: Chery’s AI-Powered Humanoid Robot

by Kris

Artificial intelligence (AI) has become a major driving force across various industries, and the automotive sector is no exception. Many carmakers are actively integrating AI into their ecosystems, including Chinese automotive giant Chery. At its recent Chery Global Intelligent Strategy Conference, the company unveiled its humanoid intelligent robot, AIMOGA — a development that has already made its way to Malaysia.

If you visit a Chery’s local 4S sales centres, you’ll be greeted by the automaker’s humanoid robot. According to Chery, the AIMOGA robot is designed to enhance the customer experience, including assisting with the sales of Chery models.

The AIMOGA robot seamlessly integrates bionic movement, multimodal interaction, and scenario-based service capabilities. It features 41 degrees of freedom and highly dexterous hands, each with 12 degrees of freedom, allowing it to perform intricate, human-like tasks with impressive precision. It can also walk at a humanoid speed of one metre per second.

Its navigation is handled by a five-way sensor matrix, enabling centimetre-level obstacle avoidance and dynamic path planning, even in complex environments. A silicone bionic face and a human-like motion library further enhance its ability to interact naturally and intuitively with users.

At its core, the AIMOGA robot is powered by a dual-core intelligent system, combining CheryGPT and DeepSeek technologies to deliver multimodal environmental perception and expert-level, knowledge-based responses. It supports natural dialogue in 10 languages, with an accuracy rate of up to 95%, helping to overcome language barriers and offer intelligent services to users worldwide.

Chery also notes that AIMOGA can master industry-specific knowledge within just one hour through cloud-based configuration tools. This capability improves deployment efficiency and allows for tailored services across a wide range of scenarios.

Chairman of Chery Group, Yin Tongyue, emphasised that the AIMOGA robot will accelerate the development of commercial applications for humanoid robots. As mentioned, it is already operational at the automaker’s 4S centres across Malaysia. Looking ahead, Chery plans to expand its use into smart home assistance, movie theatre services, and shopping mall guidance, with the aim of fully realising integrated AI intelligent services.
