PLUS, Yinson GreenTech To Build Malaysia’s First Highway Integrated EV Charging Hub

by Kris

PLUS Malaysia Berhad, in collaboration with Yinson GreenTech, has announced the establishment of the country’s first-ever highway Integrated Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Hub. The hub is currently under construction at the Seremban Rest and Service Area (RSA) along the North–South Expressway.

As part of this initiative, both companies have also formed a joint venture, Terra ChargEV Sdn. Bhd, to develop a network of EV charging hubs along the expressway. The Seremban EV Hub is expected to be operational by early 2027.

According to PLUS, the upcoming charging hub will feature 20 Direct Current (DC) charging points, capable of replenishing EVs within just 20 to 30 minutes. This efficiency is supported by a solar-ready roof supplying enough energy to facilitate the charging.

In addition to its charging facilities, the Integrated EV Hub will include eight duplex retail and F&B outlets, drive-through services, and ample parking for non-EV vehicles. Essential amenities such as public restrooms and a surau will also be provided for the comfort and convenience of highway users. Beyond enhancing travel convenience, the EV Hub is expected to boost the local economy by attracting domestic investors and creating job opportunities.
