Razer has announced a new “collection“, which is often what the brand calls special edition colourways for its peripherals. This time, it’s the Phantom White Collection, though Phantom is a lot more meaningful here than white. This is because the shell of the products in the collection are translucent, allowing you to see their innards to some degree.
This makes sense for most of the products in the collection, which includes a mouse, a mouse pad, a headset, a keyboard and a mobile controller. Or more specifically, the Razer Basilisk V3 Pro 35K, the Firefly V2 Pro, the BlackWidow V4 75%, the Barracuda X Chroma and the Kishi V3.
For all but the mouse pad, there’s the appeal of seeing a bit of the mechanical working bits on the inside. Heck, it may even help you tell when something is due for a cleaning, especially if it’s not working properly. I suppose the same argument can be made for the mousepad, but since it’s only the small strip on the top, that’s up to personal taste.
As you’d expect, the special colourway comes with a premium on top of their regular price tags. Razer has not given them a uniform price hike for the Phantom White edition though. Either way, the Phantom White Razer Basilisk V3 Pro costs RM799, with the BlackWidow V4 75% costing RM979. The Barracuda X Chroma costs RM729, with the Firefly V2 Pro and Kishi V3 sharing a RM569 price tag.
