Malaysian fans of the Yakuza game franchise will be happy to know that Sega is officially launching Yakuza 3 Kiwami (also known as Like a Dragon) and Dark Ties in Kuala Lumpur. The event will take place on 12 February, coinciding with the franchise’s latest release. Incidentally, this will also be the first time the publisher has hosted a launch event for a video game in the country.
The event will feature fan-focused activities, including a live on-stage game demo, a trivia session, and a karaoke mini-game (though it wasn’t specified, attendees may want to brush up on “Baka Mitai”, just in case). There will also be a lucky draw session where winners can get special items exclusive to the event.

Those who didn’t win the lucky draw won’t go home empty-handed. GamerBraves reported that all attendees will receive event-original freebies, ranging from shirts, logo keychains, and sticker packs.
After the main activities, there will be a guest appearance from Ryosuke Horii, the director and producer of Yakuza Kiwami 3 and Dark Ties. There will also be an autograph session with the producer-director.

Once again, the event will be on 12 February from 6PM to 8PM, with the autograph session starting at 8PM. Various sources report that Sega is positioning the launch as a closed-door event and will only share the location details with selected participants. Selected participants will receive the details via email from MantaYaY, Sega’s official partner for the event. Additionally, attendees must present a photo ID (such as an IC, driver’s licence, or passport) for identity verification upon entry.
Those who wish to join the event can register through this link. Do note, however, that the application closes on 18 January (originally 16 January) at 11:59PM local time. More importantly, remember that submitting a form does not guarantee you a spot at the event, as space is limited.
