HP Reportedly Set To Launch New Intel Panther Lake Omen Gaming Laptops At CES 2026

by Thora.Hansen

CES 2026 is looming around the corner, and you know what that means: rumours and leaks of upcoming products for miles, as the crow flies. In this report, it’s all about HP and its Omen gaming laptops.

According to the online portal, Windows Latest, HP is reportedly set to debut three Omen models: the Omen 16 Max, 16, and 15. More specifically, the company seems to be slapping the HyperX branding to the front of the lineup, which makes sense, seeing how it bought and owns the name from the once Kingston-owned lineup. Of course, what makes these laptop almost as special as other laptop brands is the fact that they’ll be launching with Intel’s next-gen Panther Lake mobile processors. Well, most of them at least.

The HyperX Omen 15, in this case, will reportedly launch with two CPU options: An Intel Core Ultra 9 386H, or an AMD Ryzen AI 7 450. For another matter, the laptop marks the return of the Omen 15 lineup; HP first launched it back in 2020, but quietly phased it out back in 2022, mainly in favour of the 16.

Other specifications of the 15 include up to an NVIDIA RTX 5070 discrete GPU, up to 32GB DDR5-5600 RAM, while storage goes up to 1TB of PCIe 4.0 SSD. Display-wise, the new 15.6-incher from HP is set to get a 3K OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and 0.2ms response time.

Then there’s the Omen 16 and 16 Max. The non-Max is said to be rocking an Intel Panther Lake CPU too, but Windows Latest isn’t sure which model it will be. Also, an alternative model with a Ryzen 9 9955HX will supposedly be offered. As for the GPU, HP isn’t going any higher than an RTX 5070 for the laptop.

Compared to its predecessor, the Omen 16 will get up to 64GB DDR5-5600 RAM, double the original maximum capacity. Also, HP will offer up to 2TB of PCIe 4.0 storage. The display will be a 16-inch 2.5K OLED display with 165Hz refresh rate and 0.2ms response time.

Lastly, there’s the Omen 16 Max. Windows Latest says that this model will be HP’s flagship model for the lineup. On paper, the laptop seems to only have one CPU configuration, and that is an Intel Panther Lake CPU, while the GPU can go all the way up to an RTX 5090. Additionally, RAM can go all the way up to 64GB DDR5-6400, which is a bump up from the 5600MT/s of the previous version. As for storage, this appears to be the only model that will receive up to 2TB of PCIe 5.0 storage. For its display, the laptop will sport up to a 16-inch 2.5K OLED panel, with a refresh rate of 240Hz and 0.2ms response time.

There’s obviously still no pricing or availability at the time, and assuming that these details are right, then we’ll only be getting them during CES 2026.
