Apple Allegedly Redesigning iOS, iPadOS, And macOS

by Thora.Hansen

Apple is working on redesigning the interfaces of its iPhone, iPad and Mac platforms later this year, as reported by Bloomberg. The changes are set to be launched with the iOS 19, iPadOS 19, and macOS 16.

Many parts of the operating system are said to receive an upgrade, including the style of icons, menus, apps, windows, and system button. The updates will reportedly simplify the usage of Apple devices and promote consistency across the software.

Purportedly inspired by the Vision Pro’s visionOS, the design update is stated to be the biggest for the Mac since macOS Big Sur, and the largest for iOS since iOS 7. Despite this, Bloomberg notes that Apple isn’t planning to merge its operating systems.

Additionally, the company is also expected to merge Siri’s systems, which currently handles legacy commands and advanced commands separately. With its incorporation, Siri’s performance and response time will be faster.

The changes are expected to be announced during Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) this year. While it is typically held in June, an exact date is yet to be confirmed.
