by Kris

Aion Malaysia has teased the GAC Aion Hyptec HT for the local market via its Facebook page. This premium electric SUV boasts a 600km range and the head turning gullwing doors that when it opens it looks like a Falcon.

The model had already made its presence felt in Malaysia when it was previewed at the Malaysia Autoshow last year. With neighbouring Thailand and Indonesia having already launched it, its arrival in Malaysia is expected soon. However, the teaser did not reveal any specifications.

Based on available information, Malaysia is likely to receive the Chinese version (available in two configurations), or the single variant that’s sold in Thailand and Indonesia. The former offers two motor outputs and four battery options. The 245PS motor is paired with either a 70kWh battery, providing a 550km CLTC range, or a 72.7kWh battery, delivering a 600km range. Meanwhile, the more powerful 340PS motor is available with an 80kWh battery for a 670km range or a 99.5kWh battery capable of 825km.
