2027 would be the 20th anniversary of the iPhone, and Apple reportedly has something big planned for for the Pro model phone of that year. Mark Gurman of Bloomberg reports, as part of the weekly Power On newsletter, that the iPhone 19 Pro will feature a lot more glass than before.
The specific quote from the newsletter is “the company is preparing a major shake-up for the iPhone’s 20th anniversary, including a a foldable version and a bold new Pro model that makes more extensive use of glass”. Unfortunately, this is the only mention of what this special iPhone would be like.

That being the case, 9to5Mac speculates that it may be “what Jony Ive initially visioned (sic) for the iPhone”, that it would “appear like a single sheet of glass”. According to a prior report by Korean outlet TheElec, the bitten fruit brand had previously tried to achieve this design by 2026, but it doesn’t look like things have progressed far enough for its completely bezel-less phone.
Beyond the supposed tech shakeup for the 20th anniversary iPhone, the newsletter covers possible Apple reactions to the US tariffs. Beyond that, the report also discusses the uncertainty of the much rumoured upcoming HomePod-esque smart display, due to the fate of its marquee feature, Apple Intelligence-focused Siri upgrade, also being up in the air.
