2025 BYD Seal Debuts In Singapore

by Kris

The 2025 BYD Seal has made its debut in Singapore, arriving in three variants; Dynamic, Premium, and Performance. Prices begin at SGD191,888 (RM643,398) for the entry-level Dynamic, SGD15,888 (RM723,870) for the mid-range Premium, and SGD266,888 (RM894,834) for the Performance variant.

In terms of performance, the Dynamic variant features a single rear-mounted motor producing 136 PS and 310 Nm of torque. It’s powered by a 61.44 kWh battery, offering a driving range of up to 460 km based on the WLTP standard.

The Premium variant delivers a more robust 313 PS and 360 Nm from a more powerful rear motor. It draws energy from an 82.56 kWh battery, extending range to a respectable WLTP range of 570 km.

At the top of the line-up, the Performance variant offers a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive setup. This combines a 215 PS front motor with the same 313 PS rear motor found in the Premium, delivering a total output of 530 PS and 670 Nm of torque.

Although it shares the same 82.56 kWh battery as the Premium, the increased performance slightly reduces its WLTP range to 520 km. All three variants feature BYD’s proprietary Blade battery and support Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality.

In terms of charging, all three models can juice up from 30% to 80% in 32 minutes using DC fast charging. The base Dynamic supports DC charging up to 110 kW and AC charging at 7 kW, allowing a full charge in around 8.6 hours.

Meanwhile, both the Premium and Performance versions accept faster DC charging at up to 150 kW, However, their full 0–100% charge time via AC remains longer at approximately 15.2 hours due to their larger battery capacity.

This latest update of the BYD Seal brings some practical enhancements, including a larger 53-litre frunk from the previous 50 litres, new alloy wheel designs, and an electrically operated roof sunshade. However there are some changes when it is compared to the China model of the BYD Seal.

The changes include forgoing the roof-mounted lidar sensors and the red BYD bagging. Instead the Singapore model retained the silver finish. In terms of safety the BYD Seal is equipped with nine airbags, a 360-degree video system, front and rear parking sensors, ISOFIX child seat anchors, ACC, AEB, lane departure warning and prevention, and emergency lane keeping assist as safety and driver aid features.

The question now is whether the same specification will be arriving in Malaysia soon. Well, with BYD Seal being one of the favourite EVs among Malaysians, it is safe to say Malaysians can expect the 2025 BYD Seal soon, but the specifications will only be known in time.
