KLIA 2 Temporarily Inaccessible By Road On 15 And 17 April 2025

by Thora.Hansen

Access to Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 2 (KLIA 2) will be temporarily inaccessible to road users for about an hour tomorrow and on 17 April due to road closures in conjunction with Chinese President Xi Jinping’s three-day visit to Malaysia. This was revealed by Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) in a travel advisory posted on its official Facebook page today.

The advisory notes that full road closures to KLIA 2 will take place from 6pm to 7pm tomorrow on 15 April, and from 8.50am to 9:50pm on Thursday, 17 April. Affected routes include Lebuh KLIA, ELITE Expressway, Lingkaran Putrajaya, Lebuh Putrajaya-Dengkil, Persiaran Selatan, Lebuh Gemilang, and Jalan P5.

Travellers are also advised to use the KLIA Ekspres service from KL Sentral to and from KLIA Terminals 1 and 2. Alternatively, they can use the KLIA Transit service, which operates from KL Sentral, Bandar Tasik Selatan, Putrajaya & Cyberjaya, or Salak Tinggi stations to KLIA Terminals 1 and 2.

For those who must drive, MAHB recommended an alternative route via the ELITE Expressway, exiting at the Serenia toll plaza, then proceeding through Kota Warisan, the mosque roundabout, Jalan KLIA 1, and the Charterfield roundabout before reaching KLIA Terminal 1 for departures, arrivals, and parking.

In case you missed it, a total of 17 routes along the Klang Valley and Putrajaya will be closed or diverted in stages from 15 to 17 April, in order to facilitate President Xi’s visit to Malaysia. For the list of roads affected by the closures, please refer to our article which we’ve published earlier this morning.
