JPJ To Introduce Combined Theory Module For Car, Motorcycle Licence Starting 1 August

by Kris

The Road Transport Department (JPJ) will be combining the KPP01 module for motorcycle and car driving licences starting from 1 August. This is according to transport minister Anthony Loke, who announced the upcoming implementation, nearly two years after the department introduced the policy back in 2023.

While the policy was announced a while ago, the JPJ still currently uses different modules for motorcycle and car licences. “The KPP01 module for motorcycles and cars were previously separate, and have been updated into a single learning module to provide additional emphasis on safe driving,” said Loke.

The updated module means that prospective drivers only need to take one theoretical exam to qualify for both motorcycle and car driving licences, but, of course, the practical tests will still need to be taken separately.

In other news, the MyJPJ app now allows users to make summons payments through TnG eWallet as part of its modernisation efforts. It will also introduce a new channel for vehicle registration number bids called JPJeBid Mobile.
