Alongside its new X200 Ultra flagship, vivo has also unveiled its latest smartwatch dubbed the Watch 5. The successor to the Watch 3, it is essentially an incremental upgrade the gets a couple of notable improvements, but with largely similar specs and design.
The Watch 5 sports a circular 1.43-inch AMOLED display with a 60Hz refresh rate, a peak brightness of 1,500 nits, and curved edges. For controls, it features a functional dial as well as a home button. It comes in aluminium alloy and stainless steel case options with a nominally lighter weight of 32g without the straps. On the software side, it ships with BlueOS 2.0, which comes along with a new AI Sports Coach feature.

As it does not run on Wear OS, it gets very limited third-party app support. Hardware-wise, it has health sensors to track your heart rate and other vitals, Bluetooth calling functionality, built-in GPS, and it comes with 5ATM water resistance. Regarding the battery life, vivo claims that the Watch 5 can last up to 22 days in Bluetooth mode.
The Watch 5 gets a price tag of CNY799 (~RM482) for the silicone strap variant and CNY999 (~RM602) for the leather strap option. As of writing, the company has not announced plans for the smartwatch’s international availability.
