inDrive Lowering Commission Rate During Merdeka Weekend; Allowing Drivers To Keep More Of Their Fares

by Kris

inDrive has announced that it will temporarily lower its commission rate for its driver partners to just 6.8% during the coming long weekend on 30 August to 1 September 2025. The move is done in conjunction with this year’s 68th Merdeka celebration, which is happening this Sunday on 31 August.

The lowered rate enables inDrive driver partners to keep more of their fares during the aforementioned period. For context, the platform usually earns 10.99% of commissions, which it says is already among the lowest in Malaysia.

inDrive adds that the move is also part of its effort to reward its drivers while honouring Malaysia’s independence milestone. In its press release, the platform’s Driver Operations Manager Azlan Anwar said the initiative highlights both unity and appreciation for those at the core of its service.

To further mark the occasion, inDrive says that it has distributed 1,000 Jalur Gemilang flags to its drivers across the nation, encouraging them to display their patriotism while on the road.
