Shell Malaysia has announced that it will phase out EV charging services through the ParkEasy app and transition users to the new Shell Recharge Asia app. Beginning 15 October 2025, ParkEasy will no longer accept bookings for Shell Recharge charging stations, with users advised to make the switch before 30 November 2025.
To continue accessing the network, existing ParkEasy users must download the Shell Recharge Asia app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and register a new account. Shell recommends using the same phone number and email address as the previous ParkEasy account to ensure a smooth transfer of membership and account details.

Users with existing ParkEasy credits can transfer them through a dedicated ParkEasy credit transfer page. According to Shell, the process should take around 14 working days, after which the credits will appear in the new Shell Recharge Asia account. Once the migration is complete, ParkEasy accounts will be frozen, and users will no longer be able to top up their balances.
While Shell did not specify a particular reason for the move, the company stated that the change aims to improve the overall EV charging experience and introduce more advanced features for drivers in Malaysia and Singapore. The new Shell Recharge Asia app, available on both iOS and Android, includes tools for locating nearby chargers, viewing real-time availability and pricing as well as reserving a charger for up to ten minutes at a fee of RM5 excluding taxes.
The app also supports more flexible payment options, allowing users to top up a wallet or pay directly with a saved debit or credit card. A pre-authorisation hold of RM150 will be applied when activating a charger. Additionally, existing Shell Recharge Gold and Platinum members can expect their subscriptions to appear in the new app within 14 working days of registration, provided they sign up using the same mobile number and email linked to their previous account.
