smart Malaysia, via Pro-Net, has officially opened bookings for its all-new smart #5 electric SUV, which made its initial local appearance during Malaysia Auto Show 2025 earlier this year. It marks the brand’s latest addition to its expanding EV lineup, positioned as a rugged yet practical option for urban drivers.
The smart #5 is offered in two variants in Malaysia: Premium and BRABUS. The Premium model runs on a 100kWh battery that delivers up to 590km WLTP range, supports 800V architecture, and enables both 22kW AC and 400kW DC fast charging. It’s rear-wheel drive and can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 6.5 seconds.
Meanwhile, the BRABUS version adds dual-motor all-wheel drive, Launch Mode, and a tuned BRABUS sound experience, sprinting from 0 to 100km/h in 3.8 seconds. It also features 21-inch BRABUS Monoblock Z wheels, red brake callipers, and Dinamica microfibre seats for a more performance-focused feel.
Inside, the SUV includes dual 13-inch OLED screens, a 25.6-inch augmented reality head-up display, and a ChatGPT-powered smart avatar named LEO. Other amenities include Nappa leather upholstery, a panoramic roof, an onboard chiller, and a Sennheiser 20-speaker system with Dolby Atmos.
Safety-wise, the smart #5 earned a 5-star Euro NCAP rating, featuring seven airbags, Smart Pilot Assist with Highway Pilot Assist and Stop & Go, plus a 360-degree camera system. It also offers nine drive modes, including five for off-road driving, and a chassis built from 82% high-strength steel.
The smart #5 Premium and smart #5 BRABUS will be available in several colour options, with local pricing to be announced closer to launch. Bookings are now available with a RM2,000 fee through the brand’s official Hello app on iOS, Android and HarmonyOS, or via its Malaysia website.
