by Kris

Chery Corporate Malaysia has confirmed that the Chery Tiggo 9 PHEV CSH will make its Malaysian debut sometime in the first half of 2026, as announced during the Chery International User Summit (CIUS) 2025. This model will be the fourth vehicle built on Chery’s CSH platform to launch locally, following the Tiggo Cross, Tiggo 7 PHEV, and Tiggo 8 PHEV.

The Tiggo 9 PHEV CSH first made its appearance at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show and will serve as the flagship model in Chery’s global line-up. In terms of design, the Tiggo 9 PHEV CSH features a closed-off octagonal grille reminiscent of the Tiggo 7, flanked by similar headlight designs to the Tiggo 8 and large air intakes for a more dynamic appearance.

Inside, the seven-seater SUV adopts a 2-3-2 seating layout with powered front seats and heated and ventilated second-row seats. The cabin also features a 15.6-inch infotainment system and a digital instrument cluster. Other highlights include a 14-speaker Sony audio system, a panoramic sunroof, and ambient lighting.

The Tiggo 9 PHEV comes in two variants, both powered by the same 1.5-litre turbocharged dedicated hybrid engine as the Tiggo 7 and 8. The base model features dual motors at the front axle, powered by an 18.3-kWh battery pack, producing 381 PS and 610 Nm of torque.

Meanwhile, the higher-spec variant includes an additional motor at the rear axle, delivering a total output of 619 PS and 920 Nm, powered by a 34.4-kWh battery pack. In terms of range, the automaker claims that both variants can offer up to 1,400 km, despite the difference in battery capacities.

At the time of writing, these are the details available on the Tiggo 9 PHEV CSH. More information is expected to be revealed as the model approaches its debut in the Malaysian market.
