BYD has revealed the official images of the Atto 2 DM-i, a hybrid version of its compact SUV. This SUV will make its debut at the European Fleet Europe Days event in Luxembourg.
Design-wise, the hybrid has taken some inspiration from its electric (EV) twin. It features sleek rectangular headlights and a slim strip of daytime running lights (DRLs). However, according to the automaker, there will be several design changes, including a larger central front grille, the removal of side vents on the front wings, and redesigned badging on the tailgate. There will also be a new exterior colour, Midnight Blue, which will be unique to the DM-i variant.

There is no information about the interior of the car; however, since it shares exterior design cues with its electric version, we can expect a similar interior layout. A 12.8-inch rotating touchscreen infotainment system and an 8.8-inch LCD digital instrument cluster are expected. The only difference might be the addition of a gear knob or paddle shifters, as it is a hybrid variant.
Performance-wise, the BYD Atto 2 DM-i will be offered in two variants with different battery sizes. The SUV will feature the manufacturer’s Super Hybrid platform and Dual Mode-intelligent (DM-i) system. The DM-i system is designed to maximise efficiency on longer journeys by selecting hybrid modes as required. In terms of range, the Atto 2 DM-i is claimed to offer a pure EV range of up to 90 km, and with a full tank, it can achieve up to 1,000 km.

The Atto 2 DM-i is slated for launch in the first quarter of 2026 in the European market. At the time of writing, there is no information about a global debut, but if it does happen, there is a possibility that it will be available in the local market, as hybrid cars are gaining traction in Malaysia.
