Porsche Updates Specifications Of The All-Electric Cayenne

by Kris

Porsche recently unveiled performance specifications of the electric version version of the Cayenne SUV, following the reveal of the model’s interior last month. The car was first showcased at the legendary Shelsley Walsh hill climb in England a few months back.

The Cayenne EV is built on Porsche’s in-house developed Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture, featuring an advanced 800-volt system, the same setup found in the all-electric Macan. Powering the SUV is a lithium-ion battery with a composition that is claimed to enhance its fast-charging capabilities.

Additionally, the high-voltage system comes with a cooling system to regulate the temperature of the battery. By controlling the temperature, the system ensures that the battery works in its optimal range, regardless of the weather. An important note is that the cooling system will feature, for the first time, energy-efficient pressure fans. This contributes to the Cayenne EV’s high performance.

Other than that, the Cayenne EV also comes with the new Predictive Thermal Management system. It connects all the vehicle’s heating and cooling circuits to manage energy flow efficiently. It constantly analyses temperature, route, and driving style to keep the battery at its ideal temperature for faster charging, longer life, and consistent range. Using navigation and traffic data, it predicts heating or cooling needs in real time, reducing energy use and improving range accuracy.

As for charging capabilities, it can support up to 400 kW, which enables the car to replenish from 10% to 80% in less than 16 minutes. The EV comes with a WLTP range of more than 600 km. Porsche also claims that the Cayenne was tested by some independent journalists in the US, where the near-production models recorded more than 563 km on a single charge, at a speed limit of 113 km/h.
