Honda Unveils 0 Alpha EV SUV At Japan Mobility Show 2025

by Kris

Honda unveiled a new prototype model of its 0 Series EV known as the 0 α (Alpha). This futuristic EV SUV was revealed at the ongoing Japan Mobility Show 2025, and it is the third model introduced by the automaker in the line-up, alongside the Honda 0 Saloon and Honda 0 SUV, which were unveiled at CES 2025 in Las Vegas.

In terms of design, the Honda 0 Alpha EV features sleek headlights, a charging lid, and an illuminated emblem integrated into a digital display. It sports a closed grille and a large, sculpted front bumper that, upon closer inspection, appears to include an integrated air intake.

At the rear, the Alpha has U-shaped lighting that combines the tail lights, reverse lights, and turn signal lights. The flowing roof spoiler aligns seamlessly with the rear body lines, while the prominent diffusers further enhance the vehicle’s futuristic and sporty character. Some of the design cues are similar to the Honda 0 SUV, such as the unique side profile with a reclining roof design, thick rear pillars, and flared wheel arches.

The automaker also stated that the Alpha EV will follow the Honda 0 Series development philosophy of being “Thin, Light, and Wise.” This approach suggests that the SUV will feature Honda’s innovative ultra-thin battery pack paired with a compact e-axle system. The ultra-thin battery design not only contributes to a lower vehicle profile and improved efficiency but also enables a more spacious and comfortable cabin.
