Pac-Man Gets Halloween-Themed Skin As Google Doodle

by Thora.Hansen

Google Doodles come in a variety of forms, celebrating all sorts of things and occasions. The internet search giant has one for Halloween as well, which comes in the form of Pac-Man with a spooky twist. Naturally, this is done in partnership with Bandai Namco, which owns the rights to the pellet-eating arcade classic.

Gameplay remains the same – get Pac-Man to eat as many dots as possible, and Power Pellets turn ghosts edible. These look to be eyeballs for the most part, though Pac-Man himself can look pretty different from run to run. The number of levels are also significantly lower, at eight, but otherwise it’s the game’s standard fare.

This is not the first time that Google has used Pac-Man for its Google Doodle. the first was all the way back in May of 2010, as part of the game’s 30th anniversary. The internet search giant also did something for April Fool’s of 2015, and with Google Maps at that.

Worth nothing though is that this Halloween edition of Pac-Man wasn’t launched officially in Malaysia. That said, you can still get access to it by visiting the page set up for it. You can do so by hitting the link below. There’s also a link to the original 30th anniversary version, if you feel so inclined.
