vivo V50 Now Official In Malaysia; Priced From RM1,899

by Kris

The vivo V50 got its launch in India, but there have been a handful of leaks that surfaced both before and after said launch. including a couple of variants. But perhaps more importantly, the brand previously teased the date of the phone’s local announcement, and as promised, the device is now official on our shores.

With the spec sheets of vivo V50 being mostly unchanged locally, this local launch confirms most of what we already know about it. This includes the 6.77-inch Full HD+ OLED 120Hz screen, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, and the 6,000 mAh battery with 90W charging.

For its cameras, the vivo V50 has a 50MP main + 50MP wide-angle combo at the back, and another 50MP shooter in front in the punch-hole cutout. The entire package comes with an IP69 rating as well, with the software side of things being represented by the FunTouch OS 15, based on Android 15.  All of this leads to a spec sheet that’s essentially similar to the phone that precedes it, with the battery and software being the key upgrades.

This also applies to the price of the vivo V50 somewhat, with some retail listings appearing ahead of schedule. There are two variants coming with 12GB of RAM, and their storage options have been revealed, and now confirmed, to be 256GB and 512GB. Which translates to price tags of RM1,999 and RM2,399 respectively. A third variant, which the company has listed as an online exclusive, comes with a 8GB + 256GB config, and is priced at RM1,899 instead.

Availability for the vivo V50 doesn’t start immediately though, as it will first be up for pre-order until 21 March. You can find out more about the phone by visiting its official product page linked here, or our first hand impressions here.
