Subaru Teases E-STI EV For Japan Mobility Show 2025

by Kris

Subaru has unveiled its line-up for the upcoming Japan Mobility Show (JMS), featuring six models in total. Among them, the standout is the electric iteration of the legendary STI badge, the Performance-E STI Concept.

According to the automaker, this battery electric vehicle (BEV) concept embodies the future of Subaru’s performance segment. From the official images, the E-STI Concept sports a sleek, aerodynamic design and appears to adopt the form of a four-door saloon. Subaru also notes that the concept emphasises not only performance but also practicality and interior comfort, offering a spacious cabin suited for daily use.

Another highlight set to appear at JMS is the Trailseeker prototype, an adventurous take on Subaru’s second production EV. The Trailseeker is designed to appeal to active lifestyle enthusiasts who enjoy venturing beyond the city. The SUV is fitted with outdoor-oriented accessories, including what looks like a roof box.

The Trailseeker, which was unveiled at the New York International Auto Show back in April, features a dual-motor setup that produces 279 kW of power. It is paired with a 74.7-kWh lithium-ion battery offering a range of 418 km.

Other vehicles that will be on display include the ICE version of the STI, the Performance B-STI Concept. Alongside that will be the Forester Wilderness prototype and the Outback Wilderness prototype. Both these prototypes are based on the Forester and Outback models and have been enhanced in terms of design, off-road capability, and functionality.
