Steam has released the results of its February 2025 hardware rankings, which shows the popularity of different video cards. A surprise to no one, NVIDIA takes the top 10 positions, with AMD and Intel trailing far behind.
The most popular choice for video cards is the GeForce RTX 4060, overtaking the RTX 3060, though this and the card’s ceasing of production is likely a coincidence. The RTX 4060 card is present in 8.57 percent of all systems in Steam, while the RTX 3060 is in a lower 6.87 percent. NVIDIA’s RTX cards have also overtaken all of the previous generation GTX series, as only the GTX 1650 card was included in the top 10, at the very last.

Notably, AMD’s Radeon GPUs were missing from the ranking’s top positions. Even with the popularity of the handheld gaming PC, the Steam Deck, which uses that particular processing unit, it wasn’t enough for a Radeon GPU to be included into the top 10.
VideoCardz speculates that a possible explanation of why the AMD Radeon cards not making the top of the Steam hardware survey list is because of the sheer number of variants if the company’s cards. The most recently announced cards in the range, the Radeon RX 9070, comes in two.
