Nintendo Switch 2 Upgrades For Mario Party, Kirby Cost US$19.99

One of the many controversial aspects of the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 was the fact that some games from the first Switch will have Switch 2 edition upgrades, and that these upgrades cost money. Big hitters like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom have their Switch 2 Edition upgrade priced at US$10 (~RM44), but it looks like not all upgrades are created equal.

Recent reports point out that upgrades for Super Mario Party Jamboree as well as Kirby and the Forgotten Land will cost US$20 (~RM88) instead. That being the case, these two games do get quite a bit more than just performance improvements with the upgrade. The latter gets a new Star-Crossed World mode, while the former gets Jamboree TV with more mini-games.

In contrast, the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition upgrade for the aforementioned Zelda titles are mostly performance boosts. There is the new Zelda Notes companion feature to be used with the Nintendo Switch mobile app, though you be the judge as to whether all that is worth its asking price.

Not that we’d be able to get a Nintendo Switch 2 anytime soon, as we’re getting it quite a bit later than the rest of the world. The company says that we’re only getting it between July and September, to coincide with our region’s very own eShop, as well as localised Switch Online subscription services.
