Half-Price Toll for Hari Raya Travel on March 28 & 29

by Thora.Hansen

Great news for those hitting the road for Hari Raya! The government has announced a 50% toll discount for Class 1 private vehicles on March 28 and 29—just in time for the festive travel rush.

Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi shared the update after a Cabinet meeting on March 26, saying the initiative will cost the government RM19.69 million. The discount applies to all highways in Peninsular Malaysia, except for tolls at the Sultan Iskandar Building (BSI) and Tanjung Kupang (which connect to Singapore).

This discount is part of the government’s effort to ease travel costs for Malaysians during major festive seasons. It started last year and now covers all four major celebrations.

For those planning to take advantage of the cheaper toll, Minister Nanta Linggi has a few tips:

Plan ahead to avoid peak-hour jams
Check your eWallet & Touch ‘n Go balance before hitting the road
Make sure your SmartTAG battery is charged
