Proton To Donate RM250,000, Free Vehicle Inspections For Pipeline Explosion Victims

The victims of the gas pipeline explosion at the beginning of this month are in urgent need of assistance, and many government and private agencies have stepped forward to support them. Joining this list is the national carmaker, Proton.

Today, Proton announced an allocation of RM250,000 to aid the affected families, including those housed at various evacuation centres (PPS) such as the Subang Jaya City Council’s multipurpose hall, Dewan Camelia, and Dewan Masjid Putra Heights.

Additionally, six nearby Proton service centres have been designated to provide free, thorough inspections for all Proton vehicles impacted by the fire. Depending on the extent of the damage, these centres will also assist with insurance claims. Below is the list of service stations and their contact details:

Whether the affected Proton vehicles were parked near ground zero or moved after the incident, this service aims to accurately assess the extent of the damage and provide clear guidance on repairs and restoration. Proton says it is committed to ensuring that affected vehicles are properly taken care of and that owners receive full service and assistance with their insurance claims.

As cited by Chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Azlan Wan Mamat, a total of 87 homes were completely destroyed, and 339 vehicles were affected by the explosion. Of these, 225 vehicles were directly hit by the fire, while the remaining 114 sustained damage due to extreme heat.
