During GTC 2025, Jen-Hsun Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, unveiled a fair bit, from Vera Rubin to Blue, a droid-like robot that just screams Disney and oozes cuteness.
In a nutshell, Blue is the culminated effort between three companies: NVIDIA, Google Deepmind, and Disney Research. Together, the three companies basically created Newton, a robotics framework that simulates robotic movements in real-time. One of the end results of that is, as mentioned, Blue.
You can pretty much tell who provided what for the robot – there are two GPUs that both power and run inside Blue, while his AI framework is provided by Google Deepmind. Above all else, both the Star Wars and Disney elements are at play here because…well, look at it. It’s just so goshdarn cute.
It goes without saying that Blue is also a test run for NVIDIA’s Newton, with the GPU brand set to release an early open source version of the SDK later this year.
That said, just imagine how cute it would be to see multiple units of it waddling its way throughout Disneyland, interacting and taking command from people in the crowd.
